John A. Lopez, age 72, passed away at home on May 6, 2016.
He was born in June 24, 1943 in Trinidad, CO to Donna and Louis Lopez who both preceded him in death.
He proudly served his country in the United States navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the early stages of the Viet Nam Conflict.
In 1965, he was united in marriage to Faye Alice Padilla.
John was a hard rock miner Henderson, CO. He then drove a truck in Wyoming and Colorado before returning to Henderson to continue working in the mine until 1995.
He loved hunting and fishing.
He enjoyed sports and was a boxing coach for the Douglas Boxing Club in Douglas, Wyoming from 1978-1982.
Survivors are wife Faye Lopez, children, Pete Lopez, John Lopez, Amanda (Brian) Metcalf, granddaughters , Cassiopiea and Charlette, brother Benjamin (Sheryl) Lopez, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, May 16, 2016 at 10AM at Sebastiani Gym. Military Honors to be conducted by US Naval Honor Guard.
Inurnment will follow at the Tercio Cemetery.
