In Loving Memory of Robert Ernest Cruz

Robert Ernest Cruz, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Aguilar, on September 5, 2015

He was born in Aguilar, CO., the son of Carmelita (Riggio) and Nash Cruz on May 26, 1943.

He attended Aguilar Schools. 

Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his service, he resided in California where he was employed at a wire drawing company.

It was during this time that he met his wife Bella and they were blessed with their son Robert Jr.  Years later, they divorced and Robert returned to Aguilar.

He will be remembered for making time for anyone in need of a helping hand, If it was giving someone a ride, a meal or anything else, Bobby was always there for them.

He enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing and woodworking.

He loved the Broncos and was an avid Denver Bronco fan.

He was preceded in death by parents Carmelita and Nash Cruz, sisters Baby Florence and Florence, brothers Nash, George, Tom,  and wife  Bella Cruz, the mother of his son.

Survivors are his brothers, Paul (Coleen), Benny (Sophie) , sisters Rose Marin, Julie Firestone, Vicky (David) Sneed, Linda (Wayne) Smith, Patty (Raul) Sanchez, his only son Robert, grandchildren Skyler and John, his loving companion Madeline Barajas , brother in law Angel Porras and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 12, 2015 with Rosary at 9:30AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10AM.

Inurnment will follow at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery with graveside services conducted by Ft. Carson Honor Guard.

Robert was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
