Dolores “Dodo” Volpato Winchell age 86, of Springer, NM, passed away Tuesday September 10, 2013 in Springer. She was born January 4, 1927 in Sopris, Colorado the daughter of Silvio and Pauline Brunelli-Volpato. Dolores was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cimarron, NM.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Terrel “Doc” Winchell, sisters Maya Pompeo, Virgie Quartieri, Siliva Palombo and brother Rico Volpato and sister-in-law Vadas Cole. Dolores is survived by six nieces Karen Pompeo Otero, Marilyn Vargas, Carolyn Woodul, Doris Hartley, Dolores Martindale and Joyce Hutchinson eight nephews Johnny, Kenny and Bobby Volpato, Ronnie and David Quartieri, Larry and Terry Pompeo and Angelo Palombo. One step daughter Janis Atkinson, Step Granddaughter Gail Francisco, step grandson Jim Atkinson and special step granddaughter Cindy Homstead and the loving care givers at Colfax General in Springer.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary and Prayer service will be Monday at 10:00 A.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel recited by Frank Cimino Jr. and Deacon Thomas Alderette. Inurnment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.

DoDo was such a wonderful lady, I will miss her sweet smile every day when I go to the nursing home. I am blessed to have known her these past ten months. She will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts and thoughts
