In Loving Memory of Thomas Wayne Richmond

In loving memory of Thomas Wayne Richmond, 12/7/1954 – 10/28/2026

Wayne Richmond was born on 12/7/1954 to Tomie and Mary Richmond. He was a loyal friend, brother, son, uncle and husband to his surviving wife, Ann Gilliam Richmond.

Wayne was a Viet Nam era army veteran.  He had many adventures throughout his life and lived in many places including Raton, NM, Armarillo, TX, Hereford, TX, Granbury, TX, Farmington, NM, Alamogordo, NM and lived with his wife, Ann, in La Luz, NM at the time of his passing.

Wayne is pre-deceased his parents, Tomie and Mary Richmond and his brother, Joe Richmond.

Wayne had many careers during his life, including taking over Tomie’s Alternator & Starter Repair from his dad until he sold it in 2000.  Wayne loved his automotive and motorcycle projects.  He called himself a “turd polisher”, finding old cars and motorcycles that others might consider past their prime, rebuilding and customizing them until they were trophy worthy and then selling them and starting over with another project.

In 1990’s when he and Ann wanted a little nicer place to live but didn’t want to go into debt for one, he studied alternative building methods including tire houses and houses made with straw bales, before building a passive-solar Adobe house on the side of Bartlett Mesa overlooking Raton, NM, which they sold in 2003.  Wayne never stopped being a creative, enterprising guy.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Ann, nine nephews and twenty-two great nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life for Wayne Richmond on his birthday, December 7, 2026 at 2 pm at Christ Community Church, Little Chapel in the Desert, 2960 Scenic Drive, Alamogordo, NM.

The Richmond family has entrusted their loved one to the care of PCS Direct Cremation Service.  Cremation will take place at PCS.  To sign the online register book, please visit www.cremation-pcs.com.
