Louise Ann Slavec was born in the coal mining camp of Delagua, Colorado on March 11,
1945. She passed away unexpectedly at home on October 14, 2026 at the age of 81. Louise
was the 4th of 6 children.
The Slavec family moved to Trinidad in 1949 where Louise lived all her life. After
graduating from Trinidad High School, Louise went to work as an agent at Gottlieb Haxby
Insurance and later for Compton Insurance. When Compton insurance closed, she accepted a
job as a teller at First National Bank. Eventually she accepted a job in the office of Holy Trinity
Parish. This position included many volunteer hours helping with fund-raising activities. She
was always a helpful and enthusiastic volunteer.
Louise loved to sew and made many of her own clothes. She also enjoyed shopping
with her sisters and competing with her brother completing jigsaw puzzles. Louise and her
sisters enjoyed spending hours together crocheting and making beautiful afghans.
Louise’s nephews and nieces will remember their “Auntie Weese” as the fun Aunt who
always knew how to spoil them on birthdays and Christmas. She was the first to show them
how to make angels in the snow. They loved her very much and she will be missed.
Louise is survived by her sisters: Rosie Blatnik and Shirley Incitti and her brother,
Joseph (Cathy) Slavec. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Ann (Dan) Milinazzo,
Jean (Jerry) Iuppa, Cindy (Steve) DiPaola, Lawrence (Brook) Sebben, Dean (Christine) Sebben,
Rodger (Jen) Blatnik, Sherri Incitti (Anthony), Mario (Carol) Incitti, Daniel (Nichole) Slavec, and
Andrew (Krista) Slavec. Louise also leaves behind several great-nieces and nephews and
great-great nieces and nephews.

Hadad and Fran Sebben; and brother-in-laws: George Hadad, Larry Sebben, and Joseph Incitti.
