Josephine “Jody” Young, age 81, went home to our Lord on September 21, 2026, at Memorial Hospital

in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Jody was born on March 3, 1945, in Raton, New Mexico, to Josephine Rody Rodman and John Paul Rodman Sr. she was raised in Raton and graduated with the RHS Class of 1963.

Jody married the love of her life, Robert Douglas Young, on August 14, 1965. She retired from Colfax County as a Deputy Assessor and volunteered her time with her parish at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for many activities. Jody enjoyed teaching with the Faith Connection Catechism Program, was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Alter Society, and Funeral Ministry.

You could always find Jody cheering on her BRONCOS from the best seat in the house, “her recliner”

Recently, Jody became a great-grandmother to Meadow Josephine Bralkowski, which brought her great joy.

Jody will be missed for her kind heart and beautiful smile that brought warmth only a “Nana” could give.

Jody is predeceased in death by her late husband Robert Douglas Young, parents: Josephine Rody Rodman and John Paul Rodman Sr., Brothers: Martin Rodman, Max Rodman, John Paul Rodman Jr., and beloved pet Wolfy.

She is survived by her two children: Douglas Lee Young (and his wife Jolene) of Raton, NM. Grandchildren: Joan Young and great-granddaughter Meadow Josephine Bralkowski of Coraopolis, PA, and step-grandson Devante Duran of Raton, NM.

Mark Anthony Young (and his wife Erin) of Denver, CO. Grandchildren: Cade Young, Carter Young and Blake Young of Denver, CO.

Sister: Marie Thompson of Albuquerque, NM, and Very Special Niece Johnylynn Thompson and her son Justin of Albuquerque, NM

She was “Nana” to her grand-dog Molly, who kept her company after the passing of her beloved Wolfy.

There were many special friends who she loved dearly and supported her in a time of need. You were all a blessing to Jody.

Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on October 23, 2026, at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Church, recited by the Legion of Mary at 11:00 a.m. Followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant.

Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery and Reception to follow at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Hall.
