Beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, and friend, Virginia “Ginny” Sanchez passed away peacefully September 7th, 2026
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, Eduardo Sanchez Jr. and Evelyn Sanchez, her brothers, Eddie Sanchez and Ronald Sanchez, and her former husband Floyd Wetch whom she shared a son with and held a lifelong friendship with.
She is survived by her two sons, Clayton Wetch and James Haught and his wife, Raelene, of Raton; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Wetch, Bryce Wetch, Bentley Haught, Weston Haught, and Oaklee Haught; her longtime partner, Ray Trujillo; her brothers, Matthew Sanchez, Larry Sanchez, and Gerald Sanchez; and her sisters, Beth Rutherford and Patricia Sanchez. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Born and raised in Raton, Ginny spent many years traveling, exploring new places, and embracing life’s adventures before returning to the hometown she loved.
Ginny was a woman of quiet strength and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She always put others before herself and never sought recognition for the sacrifices she made. Even during difficult times, she faced life with determination, grace, and resilience.
She was the kind of person who rarely complained and instead chose to persevere.
She found joy in the simple things—casting a line into the water on a fishing trip, taking road trips to new destinations, preparing meals for family and friends, and spending time with the people she loved most. Her generosity, kindness, and caring spirit touched countless lives.
