Dawayne Chancy Gonzales, born June 18, 1991, passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 35. Chancy was a beloved son, father, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought laughter, love, and unforgettable memories to the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Chancy was known for being a funny, caring, and fearless man. He had a personality that could fill a room and a way of making people laugh even when they needed it most. Beneath his humor was a caring heart and a deep love for his family. He lived life with courage and was unapologetically himself. Those who knew Dawayne will remember his laughter, his strength, his sense of humor, and the love he carried for the people closest to him.

Chancy is survived by his daughter, Isabella; his father, Andrew Gonzales, and Andrew’s spouse, Kim; his mother, Shawna Sanchez; his grandparents, Eleanor and Alan Gruver and Beatrice Payan; his sisters, Tracey Gonzales, Ronaele Sanchez, Alyssa and Alexandria Chavez; and his brothers, Derick Gonzales and Clayton Schreiner. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members, and loved ones who will deeply miss him. Chancy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elias and Fabiola Gonzales, whose memories remained an important part of his family.

Although Chancy’s time here was far too short, the love and memories he leaves behind will continue through his daughter, his parents, his siblings, his family, and everyone whose life he touched. His family will remember the jokes, the laughter, the fearless spirit, and the moments—both big and small—that made Chancy who he was.

Dawayne Chancy Gonzales will forever be remembered as a loving son, devoted dad, cherished brother, grandson, nephew, uncle and cousin, and a man who could always make people laugh. He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 9:00 am at the Sister Hildegard Parish Hall, with Father Trieu as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery.
