John Michael Romero Sr, 63, passed away on September 17, 2026.
Anyone who knew him knew how funny he was. He could make a joke out of just about any situation, no matter what was going on, and there was nothing he loved more than making the people around him laugh. His sense of humor was simply part of who he was, and it is something his family and everyone who loved him will miss tremendously.
But underneath all of the jokes was a man with an enormous heart. He cared deeply for the people around him and was the kind of person who would help anyone with just about anything. Above everything else, he was a family man through and through.
He was a boxer and carried that toughness with him throughout his life. He loved music, especially rock and country, and he loved sports, gambling, and rooting for his teams. Sundays often meant football, and he proudly cheered for both the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles.
His greatest love, though, was his family.
He leaves behind his three children: his oldest daughter, Timmi Leigh; his son, John Michael Jr.; and his youngest son, Joshua Taylor. He was also a grandfather to three girls he loved dearly: Danika Jo and Edalyn Nix, daughters of Timmi, and Anelia Juniper, daughter of Joshua.
He is also survived by his siblings Jim, Laura, Felix, Gil, Randy, Bob, and Anthony. He was preceded in death by his sister, Doreen.
He was also a proud godfather to his nephew, James, who held a special place in his life and family.
There is no simple way to sum up an entire life in a few paragraphs. He was funny, stubborn, caring, tough, generous, and completely himself. He loved his family, he loved to laugh, and he made sure the people around him laughed too.
His family will remember the jokes, the music, the football games, the stories, and all of the little things that made him who he was. More than anything, they will remember the man behind all of it—a father, grandfather, brother, and friend who loved his family deeply and left behind more laughter and memories than could ever fit on this page.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
