Scheduling changes and conflicts, umpire shortages and weather have played a big role in the spring sports schedule changes this year and the the Raton JV softball team is no exception as they played back to back double headers on Thursday and Friday April 10-11 at Jim Wade Field.
After scheduling conflicts the JV came up short of games and some were rescheduled to give the more games this spring. While the Raton JV pitchers show promise for the upcoming years they still have some work to do but they have made the teams a force to be reckoned with. While the pitches are not that fast the change up pitches continued to confuse the opposing batters.
Raton took both games on Thursday against Santa Rosa and continued that trend into Friday when they came from a 5-1 deficit to a six run rally in the fifth inning for the 7-6 win.
