The 4-8 Raton Tigers hosted the 5-2 Cimarron Rams Monday afternoon for a non district match up at Gabrielle Field where Raton dominated the game from the very beginning holding the Rams scoreless in the first inning.
Raton held Cimarron scoreless in the first three innings as Raton ran through the batting order in the first inning and scored six runs against Ram Pitcher Urijah Martinez. Raton batters put the ball in air landing in the open as well as Rams loosing the high fly balls in the sun. This trend continued into the second inning leaving the score 9-0 after two innings.
The Rams made things happen in the third holding Raton scoreless and leaving two runners on base. In the fourth inning Cimarron managed to get one run in on errors by the Tigers. Raton however put another six runs across the plate in the fourth to make it a 15-1 score. In the fifth Cimarron again in Raton errors would send three runs across home plate but it was too little too late as the game was called on the 10 run rule in the fifth.
