In Loving Memory of Ashlynn Marie Selph

Ashlynn Marie Selph, 22, of Cimarron, NM, passed away unexpectedly on March 12, 2025. Ashlynn was born on November 5, 2002, in Durango, Colorado, to Orlando Selph and Keri Selph (Yocom). She grew up in Blanco, New Mexico, where she lived until 2015.

She is survived by her father, Orlando Selph (Candice Hilliard); her mother, Keri Yocom; her grandparents, Chuck and Lori Selph, Kae and Dennis Davison, and Betty and Richard Yocom; and her great-grandmother, Janell “Jaybug” Heath.

Ashlynn was a beloved sister to Kaelyn Selph (Jesus Marin), Jesslynn Selph (Estevan Romero), Selina Selph, Sophia Selph, Alyssa Dalbey (Derek), and her baby brother, Michael Selph. Stepbrothers Reyes and Emilio Hilliard. She was a cherished aunt to Olivia Rose and Rebecca “Toogie”

She also leaves behind many cousins, including Jessica, Duncan, Leigha, Destinee, Krystle (Shane), Willow, Mattie, Dyllon, Gage, Lilly, Maria (son Jason), Jared, Lisa, Lynn, Lori, Bella, Nolan, Natalie, Alisha, Bry, Khaleesi, Alex, Matthew, Ashley (Rick), Greg (Moriah), and Sharray (Fabian).

Ashlynn will be deeply missed by her aunts and uncles: Glenda “Bella” Selph, Rick Selph (Lorri Selph), Ken Selph, Vernon Selph, Julian Selph, Mike Heath (Shallisa), and Jana Sabin (Mike).

She was also blessed with an incredible group of friends who were like family to her, including Jadyn Marquez, Morgan Butsch, Lawrence Coca, Dominic “Dom” Tafoya, Valeria Balderama, Thea Maestas, and Stoney Forbes, as well as her “adopted mother,” Marcela Chavez.

Ashlynn was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Duncan and Lucille Selph and Cindy and Clint “Ed” Quick; her uncle, Chuck Selph Jr.; her “Nanny,” Linda Young; and her cousins, Joseph Selph, Raymond Willerford, and Gabriel Selph.

Ashlynn was one of a kind—she could light up a room the moment she walked in or make you mad in a split second. In high school, she was involved in track, basketball, FFA, and cross country—activities she loved dearly. She never missed a basketball game, always cheering loudly and passionately for her team.

Known affectionately by many nicknames—Ashy, Curtis Ray, Chomps—Ashlynn was a free spirit who never second-guessed a single thing, whether good or bad. She had a heart of gold and an attitude. She will be missed by so many, and her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Until we meet again, we love you.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 29th at 11:00 AM at the Methodist Church in Cimarron, recited by Albert Hronich. Dinner will follow at the Sister Hildegard Parish Hall.
