Questa/Maxwell/Raton Cheer Place 1, 2, 3 at A-AA NM State Spirit Competition

There was a new State Champion crowned in Class A-2A as Questa just nosed out last year’s champion Mawell Bears earning the win by less than a point according to the judges.  The top four teams were all from Northern New Mexico in the 17 team field.  All three teams from last year placed in the top three spots with the exception of Clayton who placed a close fourth. The realignment had its impact as Raton and Tucumcari competed in Class 2A this year instead of 3A.  Raton placed third last year in the 3A competition and took the third place spot this year in Class A-2A.

The 21 member Questa Wildcats took the top honors this year with a 160.27 score followed by Maxwell with a 159.33 score. Raton followed up with a 154.20 score.
