Loren Doyle Beamer passed away peacefully in Amarillo, Texas at Texas Specialty Hospital after a long illness on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

Loren Doyle Beamer was born September 17, 1937, to Opal Ruth (Stein) Beamer and Serrel Douglas Beamer in Dighton, Kansas. Loren was the “baby” of the family of six children. He was known affectionately as “Effie”, I “Dody”, or “Doyle” Beamer by his numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and family. Loren was an avid football player, basketball player and wrestler, and Jr. Vice President at Bent County High School in Las Animas, Colorado. He joined the USMC/US Navy Active duty 1957-1960 serving as Personnel Man Third Class P3 USNR-R stationed in Newfoundland, with the Airborne Early Warning 15 Squadron. He was honorably discharged from the Naval Reserve in May 1963. Loren married Joy Dell Miller Beamer in 1963 in Las Animas, Colorado on July 2, 1963. They were married 61 years and had 4 children, Jami Rene Beamer-Boyle, Andrea Kay Beamer, Craig Loren Beamer, and Robin Gail Beamer. He worked for Chevron Oil Corporation his entire civilian career which transferred him from Denver, CO to Louisville, Kentucky, to the San Francisco, CA-Bay Area. He retired at age 53 after 27 years of service. He and his wife Joy moved to Stead, NM in 1989 and have been here in the Stead, Sedan, Clayton, NM area for over 36 years. Loren was a hands-on Father, Pee Wee Football Coach, Baseball Score Keeper, and Fairfield High School Booster Club Supporter. He attended all Football, Basketball, Baseball, Cheerleader, football games, Ballet and Piano recitals for his children’s sports/ extra-curricular activities. The parents and fellow teammates loved “Mr. Beamer.” Loren was ranching for 36 years until his passing. He was feeding cattle, branding, fixing fence, drilling posts. His most favorite chore was feeding the birds so he could enjoy his morning coffee with his wife looking out the window. He was an active member of the Amistad Methodist Church and played Santa at Christmas time for the children at church. He gave everyone hugs and hellos anytime they saw him at church or in town at Clayton, NM or Dalhart, Tx. He always had a “hello” and shook your hand. He collected Baseball caps. He always wore a baseball cap from the surrounding businesses to show his support. In addition to his parents, Loren was proceeded in death by his brothers, Robert Stein and Darrel Beamer, sisters, Paquita Beamer Couch, Armella Beamer Bieker, and Phyllis Beamer Lancaster, and by two children, Robin Gail Beamer and Craig Loren Beamer.

He is survived by his wife Joy Dell Miller Beamer and 2 daughters, Jami Renee Beamer-Boyle and Andrea Kay Beamer.
MEMORIALS: In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Amistad Methodist Church or to plant a tree in Loren’s memory.
