Karon Beverly Malouff, a cherished individual known for her kind, loving, caring, and humorous personality, was called home to be with the Lord on March 5th, 2025. Karon lived a life filled with love and laughter as well as many challenges.
Karon Beverly White was born on August 23, 1942, in Rugby, Colorado, to Lawerance and Alma (Boltz) White.
After graduating from Aguilar High School in 1960 she moved to Albuquerque New Mexico where she spent her days working as a Car Hop at A&W and her nights riding around on her scooter with her friend and roommate Eleanor Bachicha.
Karon met her first love, Dale VanMatre, in Aguilar, Colorado, while she was home visiting her mom, dad, and new baby sister. They were married on June 5th, 1962, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During their 10 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling the country, working with Sharp Construction, and welcoming their children. Dale and Karon were blessed with four children: Wesley Dale, Gary Lee, Kelly De,e and Jeffrey Boyd. After the Death of Dale, Karon settled in Trinidad, Colorado, to be close to her family and to raise their children. In 1975, she met Edward Mose Malouff and fell in love. The two were married in Trinidad on June 16th,1977. Mose and Karon welcomed another blessing to the family, a son, Martin (Marty) Mose Malouff.
Karon had many different career paths throughout her life, she worked at the family Liquor store Country Club Liquors, a secretary for TLC real estate, she worked at and managed a staffing agency in Pueblo and Trinidad and for the last few years she worked assisting patrons at the Carnegie Public Library but the job that she enjoyed the most was babysitting her grandchildren. Karon loved watching and bragging about her children and grandchildren, and she was always up for a good laugh, but first and foremost, she loved to talk and teach her family about the love of Jesus. She loved to sing along to Johnny Cash and hum Christian hymns.
Karon is proceeded in death by her parents Lawarence and Alma White, husbands Dale VanMatre and Edward Mose Malouff, Child Gary Lee VanMatre(infant), Siblings Madge Thurston, Lester (Babe) White, her twin sister Sharon Dill and Sister-in-Law Joyce Malouff, brother in Laws Jim Elam, Ed Sharp, George Malouff, Clifford Thurston, Greg Hollister and Jack Tortorelli.
She is survived by her four children: Dale Wesley (SaraLynn)VanMatre of Walsenburg, Kelly (James) Poe of Colorado Springs, Jeffrey (Stephanie) VanMatre of Trinidad, Marty (Jina) Malouff of Trinidad, Grandchildren: Shannon (Ty) McLeod, Micaela (Jade) Gale, Andrew Poe, Kendra VanMatre(Antonio Gitano), Justin (Johanna) VanMatre, Wesley (AJ) VanMatre, Kyle (Alexis) VanMatre, Dale (DJ) VanMatre, Malia Poe, Jayde Malouff, Abby Malouff, Hayden Malouff, Kaden VanMatre, and Jeffrey Malouff. Great-grandchildren: Giovanni Gitano and Saylor McLeod. Siblings: Leslie Sonny (MaryEllen) White, Judy Hollister, Debbie (Harold) Gutierrez, Talle (Steve) Pantazes, Sister In Laws Patricia (Ron) Macaluso, Janice Elam, Georgia Kay Sharp, and Dwight Dill. Numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Life for Karon Malouff will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Comi Funeral Home. Burial and dinner to follow.
