Vanessa R. Montoya of Denver, Colorado passed away on the morning of February 15, 2025, at her home. Vanessa was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on October 29, 1975.

Vanessa grew up on her family’s ranch in Farley, NM, she loved her animals she was either with her kitties, lambs or her beloved horse Red Wing. She was a proud FFA member and enjoyed all the memories and friends that were made, she always attributed her success in life to the skills she learned in FFA. She was a proud graduate of Springer High School, she then went on to attend NMHU where she earned her BSA, and she then earned her master’s degree from the College of Santa Fe in HR management. She was hired by the DOE as an HR specialist. She married the love of her life Eric Montoya and moved to Denver; they brought their beautiful daughter Fabiola into the world.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Fabiola Anderson; She is survived by her daughter Fabiola Montoya, and her husband Eric Montoya. She is also survived by her father Robert S. Anderson of Springer, and his partner Myda Sewell. Her beloved brother Monte Anderson his wife Tamie of Clayton, NM, her nephew Tanner Anderson, his wife Sydney, great nephew Robert Tripp “Bobby T as she called him” of Haslet, TX, nephew Collin Anderson of Amarillo, TX.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, protective sister, caring friend, friendly neighbor, and devoted Catholic.

Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Friday February 28th at 9:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer recited by Vanessa’s family. Solemn Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 am with Fr. Augustine as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Springer Cemetery.

Arrangements for Vanessa R. Montoya are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
