Michael Montoya was born, on January 2, 1954, the youngest of seven children, to Dan and Isabel Montoya. A life-long citizen of Roy, Michael was involved in the community, as a volunteer firefighter, EMT, fair board member, and coach for everything from Pee Wee to boys Varsity basketball. He also served on the Plateau board for over 20 years. Michael loved hunting, fishing, and being out in the community he grew up in and lived in. Michael was proudest of his children, Mycca and Magin. Learning everything he could and being a part of anything they undertook. Michael will always be known as Mike to those close to him and will always BE remembered for looking out for everyone’s safety. Michael is survived by his wife Sherie of 42 years. His daughter Mycca, his son Magin, his brother Dan Montoya and wife Peggy, countless nieces and nephews (great and great-great), and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Luis, Adolfo, and Florencio, and sisters, Mary and Geneva.
