Gloria R. O’Bryant, age 81, died on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Hilario Perez, officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Gloria R. (Renfro) O’Bryant was born on December 2, 1943, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Kenneth M. Renfro and Sadie Ruth (Brown) Renfro. She grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated from Rio Grande High School. Her first job out of high school was with Bell Telephone Company. Gloria married Jim O’Bryant on August 16, 1968, in Albuquerque and they moved to Folsom, New Mexico in 1969 and later to T or C, New Mexico and then moved to Clayton in 1977. Gloria worked for Dr. Jenkins for a few years and then went to work for PNM. After she retired from PNM, Gloria and her mother Sadie opened Ropes Western Wear in Clayton and operated it for several years until they sold the store and she retired again. Gloria was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clayton and PEO Chapter W in Clayton. Gloria was preceded in death by her grandmother Ruth Brown in 1990, by her father Kenneth Renfro on May 11, 1999, and her mother Sadie Ruth (Brown) Renfro on May 11, 2018, her sister, Margaret Sue O’Quinn on July 5, 2015, 2 uncles; James H. Brown on October 3, 1976, and Thomas E. Brown in December of 1997, 1 aunt; Helen Brown on December 9, 1926.

SURVIVORS:

HUSBAND: Jim O’Bryant of Clayton, New Mexico.

3 DAUGHTERS: Donna O’Bryant of Ft. Worth, Texas, Barbara Werner and her husband Paul of Los Gatos, California and Kim Leal and her husband Jon of Clayton, New Mexico.

8 GRANDCHILDREN: Jaymi Harris and her husband Denton of Hartley, Texas, Sydney Werner of Boise, Idaho, Ryan Werner of Los Gatos, California, Noah McCullough and his wife Thea of Alexandria, Virginia, Nic McCullough of Canyon, Texas, Brook Archuleta and her husband Franklin of White Rock, New Mexico and Kobe Leal and his wife Reesey and Max Leal all of Clayton, New Mexico.

7 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Holli Jean Harris, Teddy McCullough, James Archuleta, Jordan Archuleta, Rylee Archuleta, Tinley Leal and Jonathan Leal.

1 BROTHER-IN-LAW: Danny O’Quinn of Franklin, Texas.

1 UNCLE: Bill Brown & his wife Charlotte of Dora, New Mexico

1 AUNT: Loretta Vigil of Arizona
