In Loving Memory of Darline Laramie Anderson

Darlene Laramie Anderson 85, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

Darlene was born January 23, 1939 in Price, Utah, to Wendell Jackson Laramie and Genevieve Olive Pleasants Laramie. She graduated from East Carbon High School where she enjoyed being on the Trojans’ Majorette Team. Darlene moved with her family to Raton, New Mexico, where she worked at the Newberry‘s lunch counter and Pappas‘s Sweet Shop. This is where she met the love of her life, Eddie Anderson. They were married August 6, 1969 and later moved to Denver. She first began a career in the electronics and technology field, working for ARF Inc., manufacturing field radios for the troops in Vietnam. After relocating to Denver, she worked for COBE Laboratories manufacturing dialysis machines. This opened the door to Martin Marietta where she was honored to work with the Mars Polar Lander, Magellan Venus Orbiter, several satellite programs and the Titan Missile Project. The work she was most proud to do was on the Challenger space shuttle. She and five coworkers were chosen to travel to Cape Canaveral to repair the shuttle. (Martin Marietta and all employees were cleared of any mistakes in the work on the challenger.) She retired in 2000.

Darlene enjoyed embroidery, reading, tending her roses, visiting with clients at her daughter Laurie‘s beauty salon, doing genealogy, and was an avid fan of the local sports teams, the Broncos and the Rockies. She was dedicated to her family, her testimony of the gospel and to her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Darlene was fun loving and outgoing. She was our shining light that guided us and when you think of her, remember that she made her life beautiful, centered around her family, faith and always exuding love.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Laurie Betz (Randy).  Grandchildren Randy Betz Jr, Troy Betz (Coco), Brian Herzog Jr (Max), Brittany Herzog, and Aiden Brown. Great grandchildren Grace, Payton, Wyatt, Dalton, Makinlee and River Rain.  Siblings Jack Laramie (Laura), Sherry Osborn (Larry), and Terry Horner (Randy) and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Anderson, infant son Troy, daughter Dana, her parents Wendell and Genevieve Laramie, sister Barbara Laramie, and nephew Mitchell Laramie.
