( February 28, 1935 – December 11, 2024 )

Carlos Sidney Sanchez, Jr. was born on February 28, 1935, in Clayton, New Mexico to the late Carlos and Eutimia Sanchez and passed away peacefully on December 11m 2024 at Miners Colfax Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

Carlos graduated from Clayton High School in 1953 and then joined the Navy and served until 1957. Carlos returned to Clayton and started working for Safeway. He met and married the love of his life Marie Bessie Sanchez on July 11, 1964. The two were inseparable for 60 years until her passing last year. They lived in Clayton, raising their family until 1976 when he was transferred to the Raton Safeway. They raised grandkids and always provided a place for all their family to gather. He continued his career in the grocery industry for over 27 years also working at City Market, Super Save, and Revco Drug Store. In 1990 he changed career paths where he was hired as a manager for Christian Relief Services. He was a dedicated and loyal employee for 34 years. He worked full-time until 2 days before his passing. Carlos was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and was loved by all who met him. He enjoyed fishing, watching Western movies, word search puzzles, reading, and watching his Dallas Cowboys. Carlos was a man of very few words but when he spoke, it was with wisdom, respect, and love for everyone who touched his life. Carlos will be missed dearly by everyone. Sidney and Bessie are reunited together again where they belong. Carlos was preceded in death by the love of his life Marie Bessie Sanchez in December of 2023. His parents, his children, Rosalie Blan, Patsy Encinias, and Larry Vialpando, his brothers, Lalo Mares, Seferino Otero, Robert Sanchez, and his sister Sarah Mares Sanchez.

GRANDCHILDREN: Laura Pintor (Richard), Robert Gonzales (Berta), Deseray Perez (Lawrence), Jonathan Encinias, Theresa Blan (Ben), Eloy Blan, Jr., Josette Bizet, Lynette Keeth (Justin), Candice Williams (Bucky).

Sister: Addie Montoya of Clayton

Daughter-in-law: Janet Vialpando

Son-in-law: Eloy Blan, Sr.

20 Great-Grandchildren, 14 Greaqt-Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
