In Loving Memory of Rito Ortiz

Rito Ortiz, age 66, died on Friday, November 29, 2024, at his home in Dumas, Texas.

Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated after the Rosary at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Joji as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Rito Ortiz was born on February 7, 1958, in Chihuahua, Mexico to Rito Ortiz and Juana (Soto) Ortiz. He married Gloria (Arguello) Ortiz on July 25, 1986, in Perryton, Texas. Rito worked most of his life for feedyards around the Dumas area, working at Pride Feeders in Hooker, Oklahoma, and for Texas Beef and Cactus Feeders. He loved his family and taking care of his animals. Rito always enjoyed visiting with his family and he had many friends. Rito was preceded in death by his parents, Rito and Juana Ortiz and by 3 brothers, Simon Ortiz, Humberto Ortiz and Cipriano Ortiz and by 2 sisters, Antonia Melendez and Lidia Ruiz.

SURVIVORS:

WIFE: Gloria Ortiz of Dumas, Texas.

3 CHILDREN: Jose Serna and his wife Alicia of Yukon, Oklahoma, Angela Martinez of El Paso, Texas and Michael Serna of College Station, Texas.

10 GRANDCHILDREN:

2 BROTHERS: Elias Ortiz of Sunray, Texas and Fidencio Ortiz and his wife Alicia of Ft. Worth, Texas.

1 SISTER: Belen Ramirez and her husband Jose of Turpin, Oklahoma.

And numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
