David Fernandez

David Fernandez of Springer, New Mexico, passed away on the morning of October 9, 2024, in a room filled with people who loved him dearly. Dave was born in Springer, New Mexico, on October 16, 1963. He was a proud graduate of Springer High School, Class of 1981.
In 1986, Dave moved to Denver, Colorado, where he transitioned from cowboy to working as a meter reader for Denver Water. In 1995, he relocated to Dillon, Colorado, where he served as the Head Caretaker of the Dillon Reservoir and raised his two daughters.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Louis Fernandez; his mother, Emily Fernandez; and his infant brothers, Tommy Ray and Louie Jr. He is survived by his four sisters, Louise Vigil of Santa Fe, Connie Proulx of Santa Fe, Dolores Schnieder of Rio Rancho and Patricia Martinez of Springer; his two daughters, Amanda Danielson and Christine Fernandez; and three grandchildren, James, Kyle, and Tyler Danielson.
He will be remembered as a loving father, protective brother, caring friend, friendly neighbor, and devoted Catholic.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Tuesday October 29th, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer recited by David’s family. Solemn Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 am with Fr. Trieu as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Springer Cemetery.
