Petrolino Lorin Grine

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Petrolino “Lorin” Grine, who left us at the age of 49 on September 13th, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lorin was born on April 13th, 1975, in Raton, New Mexico.
Lorin is survived by his loving husband of 22 years, Toby Minjarez Jr of Pueblo, Colorado; his parents, Helen Grine, Robert Grine (Mary Almedia) of Raton, New Mexico; his sisters, Ruth Grine (Michael Garcia) of Raton, New Mexico, and Roberta Trujillo (James Trujillo) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; his brother, Jason Grine (Josh Grine) of Raton, New Mexico. Mother-in-law; Tracy Duke of Sugar City, Colorado, and his late father-in-law Toby Minjarez Sr of Fowler, Colorado; sister-in-law Mandy Anderson (Dale Anderson) of Oconee, Illinois; Chelsea Minjarez of Pueblo, Colorado, and brother-in-law Jeremy Minjarez of Sugar City, Colorado. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews, Jeremiah Trujillo, Alyssia Trujillo, Nichole Garcia (John Aughenbaugh), Alex Anderson, Dale Anderson, Ian Anderson, Jody Anderson, Adrian Anderson, Adriana Anderson, Hailey Padilla, Tamara Padilla, Ariana Padilla, and Serena Padilla; great-niece/nephews, Dietrich Aughenbaugh, Xavier Aughenbaugh, Levi Anderson, Lilliana Anderson, and Niko Anderson; along with many cousins, dear friends, John Madrid and Louis Trevizo and many loved ones who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his beloved niece, Crystal Garcia.
A proud graduate of Raton High School, Class of 1993, Lorin attended Trinidad State Jr. College and then furthered his education at Colorado State University-Pueblo, earning a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design in 2001. He was employed at Big Dog Mobile Marketing & Graphics, where his exceptional talent for designing custom vehicle wraps for many companies, shone through in every project he completed.
Lorin’s warm and outgoing personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His love for ’80s’ music brought him immense joy in his life. Lorin was also an outstanding artist who brought his creations to life with every stroke. His love for drawing was something he often shared with his family through his incredible drawings. Lorin was not only a gifted artist but also a devoted animal lover, especially to his beloved pets; Mr. Cole Furley and Maverick, whom he affectionately referred to as his babies and loved them deeply.
A celebration of Lorin’s life will be held on October 12th, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home. After services, followed by a reception with food and drinks at the local VFW.
