The Lady Wildcats travelled over the hill for a non-district volleyball match in Raton Thursday October 3, 2024, where they took the win in four.
The JV team took the court first Thursday afternoon and from the beginning struggled as Questa started the scoring. In game one the Lady Wildcats held Raton to single digits as they went on a scoring streak. In game two it was a repeat yet Raton scored a couple more points and got into double digits.
During the first varsity game Raton had the tie at five and then took the lead going up by 10 at one point. The Lady Wildcats battled back and tied the game at 24 and won the game by two 26-24. The Lady Wildcats had a strong defense at the net sending block back over the net for points.
In Game two Questa took the lead and kept it for the entire game and finished it with a seven point win. Raton turned game three around and took the lead extending it by eight at one point. Raton took the third game with a 25-18 score.
Game four saw the game stay close with ties at four, five, seven and nine. Questa then took the lead by four, then extended it by six. Raton then began to battle back and by the end Raton had pulled back to within two but as the end of the game came Questa kept the two point advantage for the win.
