Julio Chavez Obituary
Julio R. Chavez (Junior), 84, passed away August 9, 2024, in Pueblo, CO. He was born October 27, 1938 in New Mexico to parents, Julio and Sophia (Cordova) Chavez, several brothers and sisters and 1 grandson Adam Zamora who both precede him in death.
Julio was a long-time resident of Springer, NM until recently moved to Pueblo with his son Domenic (Rebecca) Chavez. Julio enjoyed fishing and hunting. He and his wife loved to dance. Julio played the accordion and played in a band. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus. Julio was a devout catholic and taught catechism for many years.
Julio is survived by his spouse, Angie Chavez; children, Domenic (Rebecca) Chavez, Joe Ray Chavez, Anna Chavez, Tina Chavez, and Brian (Jeni); niece, Lorraine Gutierrez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Solemn Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, September 21, 2024, Rosary at 9:30 am and Mass at 10:00 am at the St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer. Interment will follow in Springer Cemetery followed by a dinner at St. Josephs’ Parish Hall.
