Beatrice “Bea” Boggs AGE 89, DIED Monday, September 2, 2024, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage Officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Beatrice “Bea” (Gove) Boggs was born on April 19, 1935, in Campo, Colorado to Ira David Gove and Myrtle Elsie (Crone) Gove. She attended school in Clayton and graduated from Clayton High School in 1953. Bea married Jack Dee Boggs on December 24, 1955, in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2015. They moved to Amarillo, Texas and while living in Amarillo, purchased 15 rental units and together with Jack worked on them nights and weekends. In 1972 they purchased a place north of Sedan where they farmed and ranched for several years. Bea met with a group of women that she had attended school with every month at a local café for many years. Bea and Jack joined the First Baptist Church in Clayton and was baptized in 1996. Bea became very active with the bereavement committee cooking, preparing and serving meals for funerals at the Baptist Church. In 1990 after Jack retired, they started selling and installing satellite dishes and solar systems. They worked with that until the small satellite dishes came out. In 2010 they built a home in Clayton and moved to town. Bea and Jack spent many years camping and traveling in their motor home, after Jack was no longer able to drive Bea took over all the driving on their travels. They traveled all over the United States and Canada camping and visiting family. They especially enjoyed going to Cimarron Canyon every summer and taking their granddaughters with them. In addition to her husband and parents, Bea was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Beverly Baker and Betty Bass, by 1 brother Gerald Gove and a great-granddaughter, Brylee Anne Smith.

SURVIVORS:

2 SONS: Keith Boggs of Dalhart, Texas and David Boggs and his wife Cynthia of Canyon, Texas.

1 DAUGHTER: Barbara French and her husband Brian of Dalhart, Texas.

2 GRANDDAUGHTERS: Kendra Smith and her husband Brandon of Canyon, Texas and Amanda Archuleta and her husband Jarrod of Folsom, New Mexico.

2 GRANDSONS: Alexander Keith Boggs of Dalhart, Texas and Nathan French of Austin, Texas.

4 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Ethan Smith, Emily Smith & Brynlee Smith all of Canyon, Texas and Brody Archuleta of Folsom, New Mexico.

And several nieces and nephews.
