The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Trinidad,
Colorado will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 6:00 P.M.
in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 135 N. Animas Street, Trinidad, Colorado, 81082
Meeting Protocols:

The following items are on file for consideration by the Council:

4) PETITIONS OR COMMUNICATIONS, ORAL OR WRITTEN
The Public Comment section offers an opportunity for any citizen to express opinions or ask
questions regarding City services, policies, or other matters of community concern, and any agenda
items that are not part of a scheduled public hearing. Those wishing to speak MUST sign in no
later than 6:00 pm. Citizens will have five minutes for comments. This time limit was established to
provide efficiency in the conduct of the meeting and to allow equal opportunity for everyone wishing
to speak. An immediate response should not be expected, as issues are typically referred to City staff
for follow-up or research and are then reported back to the Council and the individual who initiated the
comment or inquiry.
Written materials for presentation to the Council must be submitted to the City Clerk as the speaker
approaches the podium.
5) CONSENT AGENDA APPROVAL
The Consent Agenda can be adopted by a simple motion. The Consent Agenda will be read aloud
prior to a vote on the motion. Any Consent Agenda item may be removed from the Consent Agenda
at the request of a Council Member for individual consideration.

6) PUBLIC HEARINGS
a) Public hearing for consideration of an ordinance submitted to the voters of the City
of Trinidad at the general election to be held on November 5, 2024, a referendum to
increase the three percent lodging tax originally authorized by the registered electors
on November 6, 2001, to six percent, the proceeds of which to be used for the
purposes authorized by Chapter 7, Section 7-46 of the Trinidad Municipal Code, or
as may be amended, as a tax increase pursuant to Section 20 of Article X of the Colorado Constitution
Individuals with disabilities needing auxiliary aid(s) may request assistance by contacting Audra Garrett, City Clerk, 135 N.
Animas Street, Phone (719) 846-9843, or FAX (719) 846-4140. At least a 48-hour advance notice prior to the scheduled meeting
would be appreciated so that arrangements can be made to locate the requested auxiliary aid(s).
