Douglas was born on October 15, 1968, to April Lockhart Claycomb and Arthur “Art” Claycomb in Amarillo, Texas. Douglas was the fourth sibling and the baby of the family. Douglas was the family’s miracle baby as his mother became paralyzed while pregnant with him. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and would later deliver her healthy baby boy. Douglas worked for the family business, Claycomb Electric, until his passing. He was a seasoned plumber, electrician and heating and air conditioning technician. The Claycomb family is extremely grateful for the kindness and care given to Douglas during his rehab and cancer battle.
