Martha Louise Ramirez was born on October 21, 1951 in El Paso, TX and is the second oldest of eleven children born to Mr. & Mrs. Emmitt Leon Bland.
On March 28, 1970, Martha married Sam Ramirez of Springer and would go on to have four children: Gabriel, Rosa, Samuel and Rebecca. Martha is also the proud grandmother to Ciara and Adian Sanchez, Desiree Ramirez and Emily Henderson. Recently, Martha became a great grandmother with the birth of Lillian Renee on June 20, 2024.
Martha enjoyed quilting and embroidery, was a master quilter and member of the Quilters Guild. She found joy in entering her blankets into the county and state fairs where others could enjoy her talents. Her unique style and amazing craft was always a sight to see.
Martha is also recognized for her countless hours of volunteer work given to the youth through her creative bulletin boards and classroom assistance. Nearly forty years devoted to empowering, supporting and loving children. She will be remembered most for her homemade tortillas, her empathy for others and her passion for life. Martha is preceded in death by her loving husband Sam and devoted son Samuel.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer, NM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 pm with Father Trieu as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Springer Cemetery.
