Vincent Michael Martinez
( March 11, 1992 – July 10, 2024 )
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Vincent Michael Martinez, who unexpectedly left us on July 10, 2024, in Las Cruces, NM. Vincent was born on March 11, 1992, in Yuma, AZ, and his vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He entered the world with a mischievous twinkle in his eye and a knack for causing delightful chaos. We can only imagine that the heavens are now echoing with his laughter, and maybe a few tears of laughter from the angels.
Vincent’s funeral service will be held on July 23, 2024, in Raton, NM, at Mount Calvary Cemetery. We promise there will be no pop quizzes on his favorite video games, but extra points will be awarded for sharing your best Vincent stories.
Vincent is survived by his loving mother, Lorie; devoted sisters, Amber and Cynthia; caring brothers, Aaron, Adrian, and Anthony; and beloved grandmother, Mary. He was also cherished by his fiancé, Lawrence, who stood by his side for over six beautiful years. Together, Vincent and Lawrence were an unstoppable team, known for their legendary movie marathons, the strength they gave each other, and their two adorable, yet slightly spoiled, dogs. They were a perfect little family. Because of Lawrence, the last six years of Vincent’s life were filled with joy, love, and fulfillment. He found peace and happiness, spending his days immersed in the things he loved most.
Vincent had a profound passion for playing the guitar, often losing himself in the melodies he created. His neighbors might not have liked his midnight serenades, but they certainly admired his talent. His deep faith and spirituality were a cornerstone of his life, his faith guided him through both good times and bad. He was also an avid video gamer since he could hold a controller, finding excitement and beauty in the digital worlds he explored. He loved working hard to beat the next level of a new game with the kind of enthusiasm that only a true gamer understands. His talent for drawing brought beauty and creativity into his life and the lives of those around him. He loved creating drawings for others and often talked about wanting to be a video game designer. He wasn’t perfect, though (nobody is). He once attempted to draw a family portrait that ended up looking more like a Picasso, but it was the thought that counted.
Above all, Vincent cherished the moments he spent with his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He had a special love for holidays, with Easter being his favorite time of the year. The joy and renewal of the season brought him immense happiness and spiritual fulfillment. In fact, it was widely believed that Vincent could single-handedly eat his weight in chocolate bunnies and still ask for more! His childlike joy in the little things was truly infectious.
Though life threw some challenges his way, Vincent’s resilience and sense of humor always shone through. He had an uncanny ability to find the silver lining in every situation, often making others laugh when they needed it most. His laugh was contagious, the kind that could turn a bad day into a good one. His light-hearted spirit and infectious laughter will be remembered. Vincent’s life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and perseverance.
Vincent Michael Martinez will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, creativity, and joy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. And let’s be honest, the world is now short one amazing gamer and chocolate bunny enthusiast. Graveside services will be held on July 23, 2024 at 10:00, am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Forest McConnell reciting.
Arrangements for Vincent Michael Martinez are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
