Michael Anthony Martinez was born March 5, 1957, in Springer New Mexico to Cornelio Henry & Mary Jane Martinez, he passed away peacefully Sunday, June 23, 2024, surrounded by loving family.
He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loving uncle.
He is survived by his mother Mary Martinez of Cimarron, Daughter Mekisha Chavez (Dagoberto) of Springer, Grandson Dago Chavez (Dakota) great-grandkids Karder & Kooper, Grandson Tristan Chavez (Justine), great grandkids Bridger Lee, and Brighton Axel, Ayla, & Savion, Grand Daughter Nysia Chavez (Josh).
He is survived by his only brother Jesse Martinez (Joann), nephews Jesse Martinez (Sara), great nieces Brandise Martinez, and Tai (Sean) Chens, Nephew Jeremy Martinez, and great nephews Jeremy & Jaden. Special cousin Becky (Irvn) Horseman, step-sons, Brandon Valenzuela, and Gary Walker, step-daughters Tyreena Schnitzler, Gina Walker, and Norma Harrington.
He was preceded in death by his father Cornelio Henry Martinez his soul mate and loving companion Pattie Brown, and great-grandson Bowen Asher Chavez
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and living his life as a free spirit riding his bike and enjoying the 4 winds. He also enjoyed riding his horse in the mountains, and the beautiful life this world had to offer.
Mike’s wishes were to be cremated and no services held. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
Dad, old habits die hard. I reached for the phone to give you a call and remembered I couldn’t. It’s still amazing to me that Mom passed away the day after your birthday and you passed away a day after hers 14 years later. Please give Mom a hug and know that both of you are greatly missed!
