Sandra (Duran) Cruz (May 2, 1963-May 17, 2024)
Sandra Cruz passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM in the presence of her loving family. Sandra was a lifelong resident of Wagon Mound, NM where she resided with her husband Albert Cruz.
She is survived by her husband, Albert, her loving daughter Nicole Cruz and partner Dylan and her grandaughter Alani of Albuquerque, her sisters, Carolyn Mascarenas and Lorraine and husband, Fernando Vigil of Albuquerque, and her sister, JoAnn, and husband John “JT” Garcia of Las Vegas, NM. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Judy Phelps of Springer, Gina Duran of Carlsbad, Susie Aguilar, and husband Frank of Liberal, Kansas, her Brothers-in-law, Johnny Cruz, Danny, and wife Danita Cruz, and Mario Cruz of Springer, Raymond and wife Norma Cruz of El Paso, TX, and Larry and wife Maria Cruz of Hawthorne, NV. She is also survived by Eddie, Isaiah, Rory, Ariel, Keisha, Brandon, Brianna, Lee, and Maria, who were nieces and nephews, but more like her children. Sandra also had many Cruz nieces and nephews that she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Connie Duran of Wagon Mound, her Parents-in-Law, Venancio and Lucy Cruz, sister-in-law Priscilla Stonecypher, brothers-In-Law, Chuck Phelps and Robert and Tommy Cruz.
Sandra worked at Colfax General Long Term Care in Springer for several years. She loved caring for all the residents there and they loved her in return. Along with her mother Connie, Sandra also took care of numerous members of her family and friends. She was employed by the Senior Citizens Center in Wagon Mound, where she continued to provide loving care and support to all.
Graveside services will be held at the Wagon Mound, NM Cemetery on July 6, 2024, at 10:30 AM, Reception to follow at the Senior Citizens Center in Wagon Mound, NM
