Linda Jo Thompson-Behrendson

Linda Jo (Thompson) Behrendsen of Folsom NM passed away on June 3, 2024 at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, CO after a battle with cancer. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed greatly.
Linda ‘also known as Jody’ was born October 1, 1962 in Raton, NM to loving parents Marilyn Kay (Littrell) and Bo Thompson. Linda grew up on ranches in the Des Moines/Folsom area, she attended and graduated from Des Moines High School. Linda then went to Oklahoma Panhandle State University where she received an associates of business degree.
Linda is survived by husband, Steve Behrendsen of Des Moines, NM; Brother, James Gaylan Thompson of Folsom, NM; Sister, Debora Sue Hronich (Albert) of Cimarron, NM; two nephews, Joseph Hronich of Angel Fire, NM; Brandon Hronich of Las Cruses, NM; one niece Crystal Felix (Michael) of Des Moines, NM; 6 great nieces, Michelle Felix of Cimarron, NM, Rebekah, Jessica, Desiray, Maddison, and Samantha Felix of Des Moines, NM. Two aunts, Vinita Brown of Folsom, NM; Dorothy Smoker of Las Cruses, NM. One uncle, Dewayne Littrell of Bismarck, ND and a large extended family of cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Bo and Kay Thompson; grandparents, Othal and Marie Littrell, and Esther and Joe Bill Thompson. One aunt, Lois Heflin; two uncles, Jack Thompson and Richard Heflin; also great aunts and uncles.
Linda enjoyed being a substitute for the teachers at the Des Moines School during the school year. It seemed to be the highlight of her week when she was called to sub for a teacher. Then in the summer, she enjoyed working for the Folsom Museum where she made numerous friends.
Linda will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend. Her spirit of generosity and care will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Funeral Service for Linda Jo will held on June 17th, 2024 in the Des Moines gym at 11:00 a.m. with Albert Hronich CLN Officiating followed by an internment at the Des Moines Cemetery.
Arrangements for Linda Jo Thompson Behrendson are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
