New Mexico Voter Absentee Instructions/ Absentee Ballot Request Deadline Is Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Any qualified New Mexico voter can vote using an absentee ballot. The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the June 4, 2024 – Primary Election is on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

The new system – known as Ballot Scout – is easy to use:

  • From NMVOTE.ORG the voter will request their absentee ballot after confirming their identity by entering their New Mexico driver’s license or state ID number, the last four digits of their Social Security number, and their date of birth.
  • The voter will then verify their registration information, select their ballot delivery method, and confirm the submission of their absentee ballot application request.
  • The voter can then visit https://sos.nm.gov/trackmyballot and enter their contact information exactly how it appears on their voter registration.
  • The voter will then be able to track the status of their ballot and sign up to receive email/text notifications.
  • If voters experience any trouble in signing up for the ballot tracking system, they should contact the County Clerk at 575-445-5551.

Absentee ballots must be returned no later than 7:00pm on Election Day, June 4, 2024, and can be mailed back to your County Clerk’s office or dropped off at any polling location or secure ballot dropboxes in your county. 

Ballot Dropboxes are located at 230 North 3rd Street in the alley and at the Office of the Colfax County Clerk at 333 Savage Avenue, Raton NM.
