Northern Mountain Constructors are back to work on I-25 finishing up work that they did not finish up last fall which includes a punch list of work to be completed. Fisher Sand and Gravel will begin work on their portion of the project May 22, 2024.
NMC has begun replacement of the center barrier near the top of the pass right before the new asphalt begins. This will create lane closures until completed then NMC will lay down the final coat of asphalt on the new section at the top of the pass which consists of a 5/8″ layer of asphalt. Along with that there is some conduit work near the north underpass at Exit 454. There is also some additional work on the game fence that needs to be completed and repairs made.
According to Travis Martinez, NMDOT Public Information Officer NMC is expected to be on site for the next 30 to 45 days depending on weather delays. Fisher Sand and Gravel will begin their rock work next week where travelers can expect some lane closures as needed to do the rock work safely.
