Donna May (Cowan) Story, age 71, of Texline, Texas, passed away on April 28, 2024, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Memorial service celebrating Donna’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Central Time on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Texline Church of Christ in Texline, Texas with Rev. Billy Rammage, officiating. The family extends an invitation to all who knew and loved Donna to join in commemorating her remarkable life and legacy.
Donna May (Cowan) Story was born to Jim and Clara Cowan on August 29, 1953, in Dalhart, Texas. Donna lived a life marked by love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family. On October 26, 1983, she married the love of her life, Bob Story, in Dumas, Texas. Together, they made Texline their cherished home for 34 years, fostering a family and community life filled with warmth and generosity. Donna was known for her exceptional roles as a wife and mother, always prioritizing the well-being and care of her family above all else. Her strength, grace, and enduring spirit were her defining traits, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was greeted in death by her father, Jim Cowan; her husband, Bobby Thomas Story Sr.; and her son, Bobby Thomas Story Jr. Donna leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her surviving family: her mother, Clara Cowan; her sister, Kathy Miller; her children, Trinidy Podzemny, Jennifer and Todd Bauer, Pat Dodson, Bobby Thomas Story III, and Lela Seavey; her grandchildren, Casey Podzemny, Vince and Erin Davis, Abigayl and Michael Skidmore, Russell Davis, Eve and Anthony Richey, Shelby Burnett, Patrick Dodson, Allison Dodson, Amy Story, Moses McAuliffe, Natasha McAuliffe, Adriana Grandos, Daniel Seavey, Jake Seavey, Anthony Seavey, Christopher Seavey, and Austin Seavey; and her great-grandchildren, Emerson Davis, Jacklyn Bauer, and Kingston Richey. Also mourning her loss are her nieces and nephews, Jimmy Miller, Nancy Miller, and Jacky Reeves, along with countless others for whom she was affectionately known as Mom, Grandma Donna, and Aunt Donna. Her memory will forever be cherished and held dear. Donna’s life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of character, and the importance of family. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
