On July 17, 1942, in Tahoka, Texas, Pat was born to Melvin C. Hogg, (Buddy), and Hazel Marie Hogg. Her brothers are Melvin, Wayne, and Stephen. Her sister, Melvis Marie, died on the day she was born. Now she is survived by her brother Wayne.
“Ruth,” (her father’s favorite name for her) moved her family to Springer, New Mexico when she was four years old. Patricia lived on a ranching property there as her father worked for the Edwards Family Ranch and on the Hogg’s own ranch until she graduated from high school.
She had very good grades and was a member of the “Cowbells,” a club that was an organization for girls similar to the Boy Scouts. They learned ranching skills. She won several awards there.
After high school, she attended a bookkeeping course in Lubbock, Texas. She returned to Springer as the bookkeeper for a local parts business.
At about this time, she spoke her faith in Jesus. She was baptized at the Cimarron Baptist Church by Pastor Stonecipher.
In the late 1960s, she moved with her mother to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she went to work at another auto parts company. She worked there until her mother became ill.
In the mid 1980’2 Patricia moved her mom back to Tahoka, Texas. There she remained until she passed into glory on March 18, 2024. During this time, she was active in Sweet Street Baptist Church, Tahoka, Texas.
God bless you, Patricia!
