Randall Jay “Randy” Mangelsdorf, age 70, passed away on March 21, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Memorial services will be held at the Clayton Methodist Church on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Randall Jay Mangelsdorf, known to many as Randy, was born in Clayton, New Mexico on November 20th, 1953. His passing has left a void that cannot be filled and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Randy was preceded in death by his father Rex Mangelsdorf and his mother Jeanette (Monroe) Mangelsdorf. Randy’s journey began in Clayton where he grew up surrounded by love and laughter. He attended Clayton High School where he made a name for himself through his exceptional athletic abilities in football and track. In 1977 Randy married Cindy King with whom he shared four beautiful children. In the early years of his career, Randy worked alongside his grandfather Walter farming in the Thomas area before transitioning into trucking for eighteen years. Later on he found fulfillment working for the Union County Road department until retiring in 2017. Retirement allowed him to indulge in what brought him joy – tinkering with classic cars and spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. Randy was more than just a father or grandfather; he was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness knew no bounds; always willing to lend an ear or offer advice when needed most. Randall Jay Manglesorf will never be forgotten; may we find solace knowing that though gone from our sight, he will forever remain alive within our hearts.

SURVIVORS:

His beloved children: are Tracy Martinez (James), Dustin Mangelsdorf (Andrea), Dee Mangelsdorf (Morgan), and Randi Snell (Austin).

His legacy also lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Derryk Esquivel (Kayla), Evany Martinez (Travis), Adrian Mangelsdorf, Mia Martinez, Ozlyn Cato, Rheanna Gayheart, James Martinez Jr., Cash Gayheart, Braedin Mangelsdorf, Walter Mangelsdorf, Aurianna Soto, Randall Mangelsdorf, Azalea Mangelsdorf, David Mangelsdorf.

Additionally, he is survived by his brothers Keith Mangelsdorf (Fern), Larry Mangelsdorf, (Linda), and Shelley Mangelsdorf along with many nieces and nephews.
