Raton Fire and Colfax County Rapid Response fire fighters were called to the 800 block of North Fourth Tuesday evening March 5 about 8:00 p.m. for a motor home fire.
The residents of the motor home escaped before the blaze spread to other parts of the vehicle. Upon arrival fire fighters found the back portion of the motor home on fire. Firemen were able to quickly extinguished the blaze. It was reported that there were several propane bottles in the area and fire fighters began the search for them to prevent further damage.
Cause of the fire was not readily available and is still under investigation. This motor home is situated between two other homes that had been burned in the past couple of years.
