In Loving Memory of David M. Hadad, Sr.

David M. Hadad, Sr. passed away on March 3, 2024. Born on June 16, 1938, in Trinidad,
Colorado, to Mike and Sara (Malouff) Hadad, David’s early years were spent immersed in the
close-knit community of Segundo, CO. He grew up working in the family’s general store and
forged a path of academic and personal growth through his education at Primero High School,
Trinidad State Junior College, and finally, The University of Denver. Following college, David
enlisted in the US Army. He returned to Trinidad in 1963
In 1967, David married Mary Ellen Miller, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together.
Their love blossomed into a family with three children: David Jr., Sara, and John. Together with
his sister Lucille, David guided the family business, Hadad’s Home Furnishings, for 60 years
with the same warmth and integrity he carried in all aspects of his life. David took immense
pride in residing in Trinidad, where he cherished the opportunity to serve numerous generations
of patrons within Trinidad and its neighboring communities.
David’s passions included photography, computers, and music, the latter finding expression in
his participation with the Trinidad Chorale. David was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
He cherished moments spent with family and friends, embodying the roles of a devoted
husband, father, grandfather and brother with grace and love.
David’s kindness and gentle spirit touched everyone he met, always offering a smile, a
handshake and a hug as signs of his genuine care and affection. He leaves behind a legacy of
love and cherished memories with his wife, Mary Ellen; his children, David and Molly, Sara and
Cole Dembs, and John; his grandchildren, Aengus Revas, Zoe Revas, Sophia Hadad, and
Michael Hadad; his brother and sister-in-law Victor and Louise Hadad, cousin, Joe Hadad; and
numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Najib and Georgette, Leo and
Bernice, Richard and Theresa, and his sister Lucille, David’s memory will forever be a beacon of
kindness and generosity in the hearts of those who knew him.
David was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the Our Lady of Guadalupe Society,
the Sayre Senior Citizens Center, contributing to his community with faith and dedication.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 3-6 PM at Comi Funeral Home
located at 1804 E Main St, Trinidad, CO 81082.
A rosary and funeral mass will be held in honor of David at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, located
at 135 Church Street, Trinidad, CO 81082 on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Rosary at 12:30 PM,
with the funeral mass starting at 1 PM. Interment at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery immediately
following mass.
Pallbearers are Ron Hadad, Nick Hadad, Cole Dembs, Aengus Revas, Michael Hadad, and Matt
Kiddie. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Hadad, Terry Brown, Tom Perry, Kim Trujillo, Mike Hadad,
Mark Bayes, and Al Sanchez.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Holy Trinity Church Restoration Fund.
