( April 23, 1951 – February 8, 2024 )

Ronald D. Seidel, 72, of Raton, NM passed away at home on February 8, 2024.  He was born on April 23, 1951, in Raton, NM to parents Frank M. Seidel and Leona (Hazen) Seidel of Springer, NM.  He grew up in Springer and graduated from Springer High School in 1969.

Ronald married his wife Pam (Vigil) Seidel in 1971.  Through this union they had 4 children, Ron, Matthew, Diana, and Leona.

He had many talents and job descriptions, retail at Gambles, youth counselor, Raton Fireman and EMT, Morgan Builders and a gold and coal miner.  Mining took him to different locations, Raton, NM, Elko, NV, Gallup, NM and Alabama.  He loved running heavy equipment.

Ronald was very proud of his children and his grandchildren and all their accomplishments.  He loved reading, fishing, hunting, traveling, music, and solving the problems of the world.  He was a faithful Raider fan and quite an artist.

He is survived by his wife Pam of 52 years, Ron and Amy Seidel, Matthew Seidel, Diana Seidel, and Leona and Shane Haver.  Grandchildren, Veronica Sidel, Nikolas and Kane Esclante, Ellyanna and Brinley Haver. Siblings; Dixie (Julio) Trujillo, David (Tammy) Seidel, Frank (Jennifer)Seidel, Linda Payton (Jimmy Billings), Sandra (Richard) Pfeiffer.  His mother in-law Elosia Vigil, sister and brother in-law Dorine and David Gutierrez.  Many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a special group of friends and his dog Auggie.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Leona Seidel, many aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents, father in-law Tom Vigil, sister in-law Anita Vigil and his beloved dog Charlie.

Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on March 16, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am with Father Trieu as the Celebrant  and Father Brasher as co-celebrant.  Inurnment will follow in the family plot in the Springer Cemetery.
