Colfax County Sheriff Office

Colfax County Sheriffs office deputies were called to the TA Truck Stop at 18 Old French Road north of Springer NM on February 26, 2024 at 5:44 a.m. where a newborn baby was found in one of the restrooms. Upon arrival Deputies and Raton EMS verified the newborn was deceased.
The mother of the newborn was located at Miner’s Colfax Medical Center where she received medical attention. The Colfax County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Medical Investigator are actively investigating this incident.
