Santa Fe Indian School Braves travelled up I-25 for district games in Raton as a light snow storm passed through the area and took home a trey of wins to improve their win loss record in district play.
The C-Team took the court first and saw the braves simply overpower the Tigers with three quarters of double digit scoring while holding Raton to single digits through out the game and finished it off with a running clock and 57-13 final score.
The JV game followed a similar path with the Braves posting double digit scoring while holding the Tigers to single digit scoring throughout the game. The Braves forced turnovers as they did in the C-Team game. When the final buzzer sounded off the Braves won 63-22.
Earlier in the season SFIS took the district win 71-35 over Raton yet this game while it resulted in a win followed a slightly different scoring path. The Tigers held the score close and went into the locker room at halftime down by eight. The third quarter is where the Tigers fell behind even more as the Braves held them down to only nine points. Missed shots including missing 15 free throws and turnovers troubled Raton and ended the game with a 20 point loss for Raton.
