Johnny “Tap” Ledoux

( June 10, 1930 – January 7, 2024 )

Johnny “Tap” LeDoux, born on June 10, 1930, to Julian LeDoux and Amelia Grant in Taos, NM passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 93 at his home in Cimarron, NM.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Julian LeDoux and Amelia Grant, sons Leonard, Richard, and Gilbert LeDoux, and great-grandson Desedrio Martinez.

He is survived by the mother of his children Theresa LeDoux, sons Johnny, Tommy, Dennis, and Patrick; daughters Mary Jane and Barbara. Grandsons James, Adam, Willy Joe, Anthony(Miriah), Angelo, David, Steven and Eric. Granddaughters Christina(Trevor), Annette(Allen), Stephanie(Joe), Reyna(Richie), Danica(Frank), Felicia, Michelle, Tabatha, and Miranda(Aaron) as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.

Johnny grew up in Ocate, NM with the Grant family. There he learned how to become a woodsman before joining the Army in May of 1951 serving during the Korean War, he was Honorably Discharged in April of 1953. He married Theresa Sanchez in 1955 and settled in Cimarron, NM where they raised their children. He worked at the Cimarron Sawmill for 30+ years. Many people knew Johnny as “Tap” or “Senor” In his spare time he loved to fish, play poker, and go to the Casino. One of his favorite things was taking his trips to Hawaii or Acapulco. He loved to be around his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he dearly loved his companion dog, Tasha.

A viewing for John will be at the Sister Hildegard Parish Hall in Cimarron, on Friday, February 16, 2024, beginning at 9:00 am, to follow with the Recitation of the most Holy Rosary at 10:00 am, with Ernie LeDoux reciting followed by the Solemn Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 am with Father Trieu as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and Interment to follow immediately at Mt. View Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.

The family of Johnny LeDoux has entrusted the care of their loved one to Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home in Raton NM.
