Rollover Sends One to UNM Hospital

New Mexico State Police and Raton Fire and Emergency Services were once again called out for a semi-truck rollover this time on I-25 around mile marker 429 south of Raton at about 9:10 am Sunday morning February 11, 2024.

Upon arrival at the scene a semi-truck was found on its side in the median. The driver of the vehicle, a 31 year old California man, was found in critical condition. Care Flight 16 from Albuquerque was called in to airlift the individual to UNM Hospital.

According to State Police the driver was traveling too fast for the current road conditions. At the time of the accident one lane was mostly open with snow packed and icy spots and the other lane was snow packed and icy.

The accident is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
