In Loving Memory of Ronald Wayne Coulter

Ronald Wayne Coulter

( April 24, 1946 – January 30, 2024 )

Ronald Wayne Coulter of Texline, Texas passed away from cancer on January 30, 2024, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 77.

Funeral services will be held at the Clayton Seventh-day Adventist Church, 401 Harding St., on Sunday, February 11 at 1:00 pm MDT. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Pastor Allen Shepherd will officiate. The interment will be in the Texline cemetery.

He was born in Springer, New Mexico, on April 24, 1946, to the late Charles Valmore (Bill) and Bonneetah Coulter of the Farley, NM community. He spent his early childhood about twelve miles west of Farley, where his parents farmed and ranched before the family moved to the Texline area in 1952. He attended grade school at the Seventh-day Adventist Church School in Clayton and graduated from high school at Southwestern Junior College Academy in Keene, TX in 1964. After graduation, he returned to Texline and farmed with his parents. On August 5, 1972, he married Pamela Townsend of Amarillo in Canyon, TX, celebrating 50 years of marriage in 2022. He continued to farm and ranch in the Texline area until his death. Ron’s faith was very important to him. He believed in Jesus and was baptized as a young teenager. He was a faithful member of the Clayton Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving as a deacon and elder. His belief in a loving and compassionate Father God grew ever stronger as his life went on, and he demonstrated this love to his family and to those around him. The legacy he wished to leave was the belief that a life centred in Christ is the most important thing for now and eternity. He was a devoted husband and father. While farming is frequently a sunup-to-sundown job, he always made time to laugh, have fun, and teach his children to love the Lord. Friends and family knew him as someone who would go above and beyond to help someone out, and as someone who loved to laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Charles Henry Coulter.

Ron is survived by his wife, Pam; one daughter, Joellen Coulter of Denver, Colorado; one son, Jeffrey Coulter and wife Jennifer of Texline; one brother, Lloyd Coulter (Neta) of Texline; two sisters, Valeetah Motschiedler (Edward) of Riverside, CA and Janeece Jung (Robert) of Redlands, CA; eight nieces and nephews, sixteen great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) www.adra.org, an organization which Ron supported for many years.
