In Loving Memory of Ana Segura(Ortiz)

Ana Segura(Ortiz)

( December 4, 1969 – January 21, 2024 )

Ana (Ortiz) Segura was born December 24, 1969, to her loving parents and siblings in Raton, New Mexico. She passed away in her home in Albuquerque on January 21, 2024.

Ana loved all things beautiful. She took great pride in creating beauty around her, making a home environment that was comfortable and elegant. Ana loved to explore new places and enjoy the adventures of travel while picking out new ideas to incorporate into her daily life.  Ana shared her gift for style with her family and would incorporate her impeccable taste into decorating weddings, showers, and parties with professional-level perfection. After living in Hawaii, Ana carried on that experience through her taste in decor, the Polynesian culture, and her love of tropical fruits.

Ana valued her family and kept consistent contact with her siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She saw her daughter and grandchildren daily, sharing with them her humor and faith that they will carry on throughout their lives. Ana could talk to anyone and often could be found visiting strangers in public. She would find something about a family or person’s appearance to compliment, and Ana would use that to begin chatting about anything and everything. Ana’s laugh was delicate, but her humor was often sharp and witty, both of which represented how soft and strong she was. Throughout her life, Ana’s relationship with her faith was important, and she continued her studies until she passed.

Ana is survived by her husband of 23 years, Danny Segura (Albuquerque); her daughter, Shantell (Adrian) Jacobo (Albuquerque); a grandson, Mateo; a granddaughter, Joslyn; four sisters, Margie Vigil (Canyon City, CO), Patsy Ortega (Raton), Senaida Romero (Albuquerque), Tanya Ortiz (Raton); and three brothers, Ned Ortiz (Raton), Salo Jaramillo (Raton) and Fernando Ortiz (Albuquerque). Ana was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Esquivel, her parents, Rosie and Max Ortiz, her brother, Ernie Ortiz, and her sister, Angie Chacon.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 8 from 1:00 – 3:00 at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.   Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home on Friday, February 9 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Fairmont Cemetery.

Arrangements for Ana (Ortiz) Segura are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
