Claudio Saenz
( October 30, 1952 – January 22, 2024 )
Claudio Saenz, of Raton, passed away unexpectedly on January 22, 2024, at the age of 71. Claudio was born on October 30, 1952, to Jesus and Gregoria Saenz in San Felipe Chihuahua Mexico.
At a young age, with only borrowed money in his pocket, Claudio began his journey to the US to find work. Over many years he worked in many fields and became a jack of all trades – believing no project was too big or too small.
In 1986 Claudio fulfilled his passion for music by starting his own band, Los Mescaleros Del Norte. During his singing career he and his wife, Bernie, produced four successful albums and performed in many venues all over the western United States.
In 1994 he started his own, family run, company Claudio Saenz Landscaping, which every day fulfilled his lifelong dream to work alongside his boys. Through his work in the community, he acquired many bosses and many lifelong friends. Claudio was loved by many, the hardest worker anyone knew, and enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting, and WORKING with his boys.
He is survived by his wife Bernadette Saenz, his ten children Norma Saenz, Claudio H. Saenz, Rene Saenz, Oscar Saenz, Myriam Saenz, Monica Prieto, Margarita Alverez, and their significant others as well as Eric and Katelin Saenz, Claudio Jr and Yolanda Saenz, Carlos and Brenda Saenz, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, including the newest addition, Adalyn Saenz, born two days after his passing. He is also survived by his sisters Teresa Torres and husband Lee Torres and Alma Saenz and husband Rosario Lopez, Leonor Saenz, Josefina Saenz, and brothers Frank Rodriguez, Monico Saenz, Ruben Saenz, Guadalupe Saenz, Margarito Saenz, Gumaro Saenz, their significant others and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Gregoria Saenz and several brothers and sisters.
