Patrick “Pat” John Milinazzo, of Greeley, Colorado, passed on December 11, 2023. He was born on November 2, 1944, and was raised by his parents Frank “Buster” and Julia (Smith) Milinazzo.
Pat grew up in Trinidad, Colorado, attended Holy Trinity High School, and was a
1962 graduate. He married Deborah Leonard, on November 23, 1966, in Raton,
New Mexico. Together, the couple had two children, Rick and Wendi. Pat was
gregarious and easygoing; his sales position suited him well. He never knew a
stranger and could talk to anyone. He also served in the National Guard for six
years as a medic. In retirement, Pat enjoyed working as a school crossing guard.
He soon became a favorite with the children and commuters. Pat was a loving
husband, father, and friend. Christmas and Fourth of July were his favorite
holidays. He was known for putting on the neighborhood fireworks show, building
elaborate Christmas displays, and always up for playing Santa Claus. He had a
real passion for drag racing and enjoyed spending time with his son at the track.
He was known for his sense of humor and infectious smile. He had a great
affection for dogs and never missed a chance to have one as his companion. Pat
enjoyed carpentry, watching football, and gardening as well.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Deborah, and son Patrick “Rick” (Cheri)
Milinazzo, and daughter Wendi Milinazzo; sister-in-law, Sara Brown and
brothers-in-law, Don Brown and Michael Riccatone, along with numerous cousins,
nieces, and nephews.
Patrick is preceded in death by his mother Julia DeBella, and his father Frank “Buster”
Milinazzo, step-father Gregory DeBella, sister Debbie Riccatone, sister-in-law
Kathy Newcomb, and mother and father-in-law Francis S. and Sally Leonard.
