Ruby Mae Kropf

Ruby Mae Langham Kropf, age 88 passed away on December 3, 2023, at her home in Capulin, New Mexico.

BACKGROUND: Ruby Mae Langham Kropf was born at home near Levy, New Mexico on July 11, 1935, to Omer and Zula Langham. She attended Wagon Mound school through the 5th grade when she moved to Raton, New Mexico. She graduated from Raton High School in 1953. Ruby married Archie Kropf in November of 1953. They were blessed with 3 children. She was a stay-at-home mom for much of their childhood. Ruby worked at various jobs through the years including, JC Penney and Capulin Mountain, and Ruby and Archie owned and operated the Sunset Moet in Raton for several years. She enjoyed attending Grace Methodist Church and being a member of the Folsom Garden Club. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who cherished the time she took to make each visit special. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and one sister. Also, her husband Archie, sons-in-law, Ralph Solano and Steve Booton, grandson Berek Solano and granddaughter Alesha Cruz.
SURVIVORS:
Ruby is survived by a son, Wade Kropf, and daughters, Lori Cruz (Domingo) and Melanie Booton. Grandchildren, Caleb Kropf (Kari), Lonnie Cruz (Cathy), Brent Cruz (Joni), Drey Solano (Jill), Aubryna Booton, Ciaran Overstreet (Adolph), and 12 great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alesha Mae Cruz Memorial Scholarship fund at Cross First Bank in Des Moines, New Mexico, or the Raton Humane Society.
I will always remember Ruby with great fondness. We Polage children spent many hours at Penneys where Ruby
and a couple of the other women always treated us like we were their children. I will always remember her from church as well. I am sure she will be greatly missed by you all. My thoughts are with you, may you always hold her in your heart.
